Teeth Cleaning in Queen Creek, AZ
Whether you need your regular cleaning or have missed a few visits, we can help. We clean your teeth to remove hardened buildup that brushing cannot remove. Our dental cleaning services help you care for your teeth and gums alongside daily brushing and flossing.
How Often Should You Have Your Teeth Cleaned?
Many people have their teeth cleaned every six months, but your needs can be different. The American Dental Association (ADA) explains that dental visits should follow your individual needs. Some people need one or two visits each year, while others need more frequent care. Our dentist checks your teeth and gums and explains how often you should return for cleaning.
Benefits of Professional Teeth Cleaning
Professional teeth cleaning removes buildup from areas that are hard to clean at home. It also helps support healthy gums, fresher breath, and a cleaner smile.
Remove Buildup That Brushing Cannot Remove
Plaque is a sticky layer of bacteria that forms on your teeth. When it hardens, it becomes tartar. Brushing cannot remove tartar, so we use dental tools to clean it from your teeth.
Help Keep Your Gums Healthy
Bacteria in plaque can make your gums red, swollen, or prone to bleeding. Removing this buildup helps you keep your gums healthy alongside daily brushing and cleaning between your teeth.
Help Reduce Bad Breath
Cleaning can help when bacteria and trapped food contribute to bad breath. If the smell keeps returning, tell us. Dry mouth, gum disease, and other problems can also cause it and need attention.
Remove Some Surface Stains
Polishing can remove some stains on the outside of your teeth. Your teeth can look cleaner afterward, though the results depend on the stains. Cleaning does not change your natural tooth color.
Do You Need a Regular Cleaning or a Deep Cleaning?
A regular cleaning removes buildup to help maintain healthy teeth and gums. Deep cleaning treats gum disease by cleaning beneath the gums and along the tooth roots. It is also called scaling and root planing.
We check your gums and measure the spaces between your teeth and gums to help determine the care you need. Deeper spaces can trap bacteria and require treatment beyond a routine cleaning. Our recommendation depends on what we find, rather than simply how long it has been since your last visit.
Our Dental Cleaning Procedure
Your gum health helps us decide which cleaning you need. A routine cleaning generally involves the steps below.
01
Check Your Teeth and Gums
We ask about your concerns and check for signs of tooth or gum problems. This assessment helps us decide whether a routine cleaning is suitable. An examination checks your oral health, while the cleaning removes buildup.
02
Remove Plaque and Tartar
We use dental tools to remove soft and hardened buildup from your teeth and around the gumline. You may hear scraping sounds as we work. Tell us if an area feels sensitive.
03
Polish Your Teeth
We polish your teeth with a dental polishing paste to remove remaining surface stains. This helps leave the surfaces feeling smoother.
04
Explain Your Home Care and Next Visit
We discuss brushing and cleaning between your teeth, including areas you find hard to reach. We also explain when to book your next visit based on your needs.

Teeth Cleaning FAQs
What Is Dental Cleaning?
Dental cleaning is professional care that removes plaque, tartar, and some surface stains from your teeth. It supports your daily brushing and flossing routine. The type of cleaning you need depends on the condition of your teeth and gums.
Do I Need Professional Cleaning if I Brush and Floss?
Yes. Good home care helps control plaque, but tartar can still form in areas you miss. Once it hardens, brushing and flossing cannot remove it. Keep up your daily routine and follow the cleaning schedule we recommend.
How Long Does a Teeth Cleaning Appointment Take?
A routine cleaning often takes about 30 to 60 minutes. Allow extra time if your visit also includes an examination or other care. Ask our team about the expected appointment length when booking.
Does Teeth Cleaning Whiten Teeth?
Cleaning can make teeth look brighter by removing surface stains, but it is different from whitening treatment. Staining within the tooth does not come off through cleaning. Tell us what change you hope to see so we can discuss suitable options.
Can Teeth Cleaning Remove Cavities?
No. Cleaning removes buildup, but it cannot repair a hole caused by tooth decay. A cavity often needs a filling. Very early decay can sometimes be reversed before a hole forms, so we check the tooth before recommending treatment.
Can I Eat After My Teeth Cleaning?
You can usually eat after a routine cleaning. If your visit includes fluoride treatment, you may need to wait before eating or drinking. Follow the instructions for the treatment you receive, since these can vary.

Update to my review from a while back. I started going myself last week. As someone who worked in dental for ten years and still has bad dental anxiety, Dr. Stone is great. I presented with tooth pain. Although he tried to convince me to save the tooth (as that is his job) he ultimately listened to what I wanted and took it out. The tooth gave him a challenge, but the entire time he kept me calm... made me laugh... and didnt make me feel bad when I needed breaks. I have full faith he will help me get my dental health back and in turn making me more confident in my smile. Highly recommend. My 6 year old daughter had her first dental appointment and cleaning today. I was a nervous wreck but the staff was so amazing and kept her calm (and I) calm. I did not get the technicians name that did her x-rays but the technician was so patient and calm and quick with her. Dr. Smith then came in and made my daughter feel so comfortable and helped her and us, as her parents, understand the areas she needed to work on. Cari the hygienist explained to my daughter what she was doing every step of the way so she wouldn't be scared and they even gave us an estimate for what we were looking at for the next 6 month appointment. Yasmira and the rest of the staff up front were so friendly and welcoming. Our visit overall was wonderful from start to finish. The office is very clean and cozy and feels like a home instead of dental office. Highly recommend for all your family needs!Posted on Google![]()

I had a root canal done, and I was very pleased with my treatment. Both the dentist and the dental hygienist were very very professional. I’ve been a person that’s always dreaded going to the dentist, but no more not at this office.. Everyone is extremely professional, courteous, and understandingPosted on Google![]()
